Movie Monday Update Week of July 1st


Hello and Happy Monday TC readers! Super lax update this week! Not a lot of releases this week both for trailers or retail. Two exciting big movies opening tomorrow though just in time for the Fourth of July weekend! Don’t forget to check out my review on World War Z here if you haven’t done so already! All right, let’s go ahead and jump right to it!

A second trailer for the movie Prisoners was released last week and you can check it out here! This new trailer has additional footage as well as more plot details. When a man’s daughter turns up missing he will stop at nothing to get the answers that will lead him to the location of his daughter. Prisoners stars Terrence Howard, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Hugh Jackman. The movie is expected to hit theaters on September 20th, 2013!

A teaser trailer for Ridley Scott’s (Gladiator, Prometheus) latest film as well as Cormac McCarthy’s (The Road, No Country for Old Men) first original screenplay, The Counselor, hit the web last week and you can check it out here! “A lawyer finds himself in over his head when he gets involved in drug trafficking.” (Via Imdb) The Counselor stars Michael Fassbender, Cameron Diaz, Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem, and Brad Pitt! The movie is expected to hit theaters on October 25th, 2013!

 Normally don’t plug Netflix TV shows unless it’s a review but due to the lack of trailers and movies coming to retail this week I thought I’d pad out this week’s update with some extra news! New Girl has finally made its way to Netflix streaming and you can check it out here! The show is incredibly funny and has quickly become one of my favorite shows!

Movie Monday Update Week of June 24th


Hello and Happy Monday TC readers! Lots of choices on the retail front this week, as well as two solid choices on the big screen! Don’t forget to check out my review on Monsters University here if you haven’t done so already! Got another solid batch of trailers this week so let’s go ahead and jump right in!

Anchor Man 2 Wide

A trailer for the movie Anchorman 2 hit the web last week and you can check it out here! The gang gets back together when a 24-hour news station recruits Ron and friends on to their network. Anchorman 2 stars Paul Rudd, Will Ferrell, and Steve Carell. The movie is expected to hit theaters on December 20th, 2013!

A trailer for the movie Free Birds hit the web last week and you can check it out here. Two turkeys work together to go back in time and get turkey taken off the Thanksgiving menu. Free Birds stars Owen Wilson, Amy Poehler, and Woody Harrelson. The movie is expected to hit theaters on November 1st, 2013!

A trailer for The Lego Movie hit the web last week and you can check it out here! When an ordinary lego figure is mistaken for the MasterBuilder he is recruited to stop an evil lego figure from destroying their universe. The Lego Movie stars Will Arnett, Morgan Freeman, Chris Pratt, and Alison Brie. The movie is expected to hit theaters on February 7th, 2014!

Frozen wide

A teaser trailer for Disney’s newest animated feature Frozen hit the web last week and you can check it out here! A woman named Anna teams up with a mountain man in an attempt to rescue her Snow Queen sister from banishment. Frozen stars Josh Gad, Alan Tudyk, and Kristen Bell. The movie is expected to release on November 27th, 2013!

A trailer for the movie Jobs hit the web last week and you can check it out here! Based on true events, Jobs details the life of Steve Jobs from his decision to drop out of college to creating Apple’s legacy. Jobs stars Josh Gad, J.K. Simmons, and Ashton Kutcher. The movie is expected to hit theaters on August 16th, 2013!

Hello and Happy Monday TC readers! Got a lot of movies to choose from this week on the retail front as well as two solid movie choices at the theaters! Betrayed and left for dead, Riddick must fight for survival against not only alien predators but dangerous bounty hunters. Riddick stars Karl Urban, Katee Sackhoff, and Vin Diesel. The movie is expected to hit theaters on September 6th, 2013!

A trailer for the movie 300: Rise of an Empire hit the web last week and you can check it out here! The follow up to the 2007 film will take us before, during, and after the Battle of Thermopylae as depicted in the previous film. 300: Rise of an Empire stars Eva Green, Sullivan Stapleton, and Lena Headey. The film is set to hit theaters on March 7th, 2014!

A trailer for the movie The Wolf of Wall Street hit the web last week and you can check it out here! The film is a biographical comedy-drama crime film directed by Martin Scorsese. The Wolf of Wall Street stars Jonah Hill, Matthew McConaughey, and Leonardo DiCaprio. The movie is expected to hit theaters on November 15th, 2013!

Elysium tells the story of a divided society where the wealthy live on the luxurious Elysium in orbit around earth, while the poor remain on an overpopulated and ruined Earth. When a man named Max Decosta is diagnosed with cancer he must reach Elysium to get the treatment he needs to survive. Elysium stars Sharlto Copley, Matt Damon, and Jodie Foster. The movie is expected to hit theaters on August 9th, 2013!

When a man’s daughter mysteriously goes missing the only suspect turns out to have a clean record and no obvious motives. Unable to charge the suspect with kidnapping the father takes matters into his own hands to save the lives of those he loves. Prisoners stars Terrence Howard, Viola Davis, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Hugh Jackman. The movie is expected to hit theaters on September 20th, 2013!

Percy Jackson and friends set off to find the golden fleece after their only save haven is threatened from ancient evil. Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters stars Logan Lerman, Alexandria Daddario, Nathan Fillion, and Stanley Tucci. The movie is expected to hit theaters on August 7th, 2013!

When one family finds themselves taking in an extra member they’re faced with the difficult task of letting him stay or giving him up to the people hunting him down. The Purge stars Lena Headey, Adelaid Kane, Max Burkholder, and Ethan Hawke. The movie is set to hit theaters on May 31st, 2013!

When their last safe haven is threatened by the foretold return of Chronos Percy and his friends head out into the sea of monsters to retrieve the golden fleece.
